How to practise a new signature until it feels natural

A two-week routine with tracing sheets, slow repetition and speed tests.

A new signature feels strange for the first week. That is normal: you are replacing years of muscle memory.

Days 1–3: trace

Trace the signature on a practice sheet ten times a day, slowly, following the stroke order. Do not speed up yet.

Days 4–7: copy

Write it next to the model without tracing. Compare shapes, especially the first capital and the joins.

Days 8–14: speed and size

Sign at normal speed, then inside small boxes. Keep the version that survives speed — even if it is a little simpler than the drawing.

Keep it consistent

Use the new signature everywhere once it is stable, and update banks or offices that keep a specimen. Our practice pack includes tracing sheets and a slow writing video for exactly this routine.
