How an English name becomes Chinese characters
Sound, meaning, and existing family characters are different jobs.
If you already have Chinese characters from family use, those come first. We confirm the exact glyphs, simplified or traditional forms, and the reading.
If you only have an English name, phonetic options can be listed with short notes. There is not one correct Chinese name hiding in the language.
Meaning-led naming is a separate review. Writing does not start until the characters are confirmed.
